Project

I had an idea. I wanted a place to put blankets and a smaller coffee table. So I got my dad to help me put something together. First we got the lumber.

We measured and dad did the cutting.

Then glue and nails.

Then I brought it back to Ogden and picked out some hardware and we drilled holes.

Then paint.

Then finishing touches.

 I wanted it distressed to have the red show through a bit. And to give it a more used look.

I think it turned out well. What do you think?

Gingerbread

I almost forgot this little adventure. I found a gingerbread kit and  brought it home so we could have a fun Christmas activity. I think we had a little too much fun with it.

It started out pretty normal. Put all the pieces together and decorate.

Then we got a bit crazy and wanted to have more fun. . .

Red Wall

James and I are helping his parents to spruce up the half of the duplex we inhabit and part of that is redoing the walls. We started with the shared wall. It is the only wall without an opening in it and we decided to make it an accent wall. So we started by stripping the accumulated paint and wall-paper from previous  decorating schemes.

It was very messy but went quite quickly when I was able to join the efforts. James insisted on taking a picture of me. We got some details from the wall-paper under the paint.

Here's proof that James did a lot of the work to clean up this wall.

The next step was to get it plastered to be nice and smooth. And to choose the color.

We went with the one on the right. And it looks awesome!

Now we get to do the other walls :)

Brooklyn's Baptism, Wenatchee, WA

October 2010, Brooklyn turned eight and everyone went to Washington to see her baptism. We spent time playing games, as always, and we visited Leavenworth. Leavenworth, Washington is a little Bavarian town close to Wenatchee.

 The best store there was the Christmas store, Kris Kringle.

We also went to a petting zoo. The kids had so much fun feeding all the animals. The adults did, too :). There was one area where you could get one of the sheep to climb up to the top of a shed and eat from a bucket. That was fun to see.

There were all sorts of farm animals and they were pretty friendly. Of course, they knew we had food for them :).

These boys are so cute. They were having a blast. And it was so fun to see.

There was a store there that sold fresh apples from the orchards and I had a lot of fun taking pictures of it all.

As well as the pumpkins and gourds.

It was a very fun weekend and I loved seeing everyone. We have a great family :)
